Toot, Toot VickiM! Congratulations on another UFO finish. I love that you created this entirely from your stash and leftover fabric from an estate sale. It's a fun quilt and so cheery. Nice!

The green dots were an estate find for $2...had enough for this front & the whole backing & binding. Will use the scraps leftover of it in another quilt. I love the warm wishes pattern!

That is some practice piece, Fraew and QuilterMomma. I really like your quilting on it, Fraew.

What a cute quilt, VickiM. I love that sailboat print.

That's a practice piece???? Wow, that is beautiful and so fitting to have completed by Valentines day. QuilterMomma did a beautiful job and congratulations Fraew on the finish.

The years came and went! and went! and went some more! I finally machine stitched the binding in December and finished the hand stitching today. Yahoo! It' done.

It's a beauty QuilterMomma! Thank you.

Wow Fraew, what a blast from the past for me. I remember playing on that quilt. Knowing what I do now, there is lots more I could do to it. No, I don't want to load it on the machine again and do more, but it did turn out nice. Glad it has been finished and the scalloped border was a great choice. Scallops are beautiful but seem to take a lot of time to do the binding on. Glad you like it and it is completed.

I know it is not the prettiest quilt. I was looking to rid myself of the dancing feet checkered fabric. My piecing is not perfect on this either. I need to work on intersections of this pattern. I do love the look of it though. My border quilting I think pulled this quilt together. I cut this and started it about six or seven years ago. So glad is all done.
QuilterMomma, I think you did a super-fabu-glorious job!!
I love the effects you can get with curved pieces, but alas!! Curves and I do not piece peacefully together!! You are right that your quilting tied it all so nicely together.
And as far as getting rid of fabric that you don't like, Bonnie Hunter says "If it's still ugly, you didn't cut it small enough!"

I managed to embroider another animal for one UFO, and quilt another 1 1/2 rows on "Glory". We have some errands to do tomorrow, but afterwards I'm hoping to finish Glory, and have that as my February UFO. Then she gets thrown in the washing machine, then either sold on Etsey or just given to hubby to use as his armchair quilt. Which probably also means that Cowboy will get to shed all over it as well.

We had some snow flurries here at work - I'm hoping the major stuff holds off until after I get home. We're supposed to get some pretty heavy snow (heavy for us, that is) very early Monday morning, so I'll be taking the laptop home in case I have to dial into the office on Monday.

Hope everyone gets to finish a UFO this weekend!!

OK now, Janice - let's get some more inroads on our UFO's before you start us on the USP's. I may have as many USP's as I do UFO's!

I've done really good with not buying any new fabric - but I think I will probably break down and buy some tomorrow. A local wholesale fabric company (Foust Textiles) is having their "open to the public" day today and tomorrow. That's a really good place to buy wide backings and roll batting. Plus I want to get another bolt of 60" wide muslin to continue practicing my wall-hanging size wholecloth quilts.
Other than that, I've done really well - I have managed to resist all the online fabric store emails, screaming "Valentine's Day Sale", and just deleted them without even opening them.

Whenever I see those emails, I remind myself of all the UFO's and USP's that I already have - and how bulging my shelves and totes in my sewing room are.

I'm hoping my next finishes are: Glory, the embroidered animals quilt, the OTHER animals quilt, a couple of tops I found at yard sales, my Moda Shuffle blocks, a Drunkard's Path, and a Double Wedding Ring. And there are the other two flimsies (Pineapple and wall hanging Lone Star). And I still have to frog the other Lone Star (I'm really dreading that one).

I have a new grandbaby that is due April 11. I have to decide if I want the embroidered animals quilt to be hers or if I want to do something completely new (which will bust my "no new fabric vow" all to pieces). Or, maybe - just MAYBE - I can use my wide muslin to make her a wholecloth quilt? what do you folks think?
