You can go to the Quiltville blog at any time and click on the link in the top band for "Allietare". The latest clues will be up. Right now, only the introduction is up.

http://quiltville.blogspot.com/ Look at the gray tabs at the top, under the big picture of a quilt. Allietare Mystery is the last tab. Open that and then at the bottom of the text the links to the clues will be listed, highlighted in blue.

Only a few more days until we all start cutting and sewing for this year's mystery quilt. I'm so glad to have this project to work on since we won't be with family again this year during the holiday season. It's a difficult time for us and having something to keep me busy during the long winter days helps the time pass more quickly.

Before we get started, a gentle reminder is in order. As we share our progress here on the mystery quilt clues each week, please remember that Bonnie has asked that we do not state specific unit sizes and exact numbers of units to be made for each step in our posts. She has plans to publish this mystery quilt as a pattern for sale next spring and wants to protect her design. Thank you all in advance for complying with her request.

Looking forward to seeing your quilts come to life and all the sharing as we go along.

Best wishes to everyone for a Happy Thanksgiving!

You can go to her Blog and you will find a tab for the Allietare Mystery. You will find that every Friday will be the next part of the mystery.

I am using some whites along with some creams and very pale grays in my neutrals. I think whites will work great!!

I was re-reading the introduction today, and noticed that Bonnie's neutrals also include lots of white.

Bought the last fill-in fabric today--some more black, more red and more gold, since I used lots of the red and gold in a Rocky Road to Kansas for DS some years ago and my blue/Aqua/teal/purple/turquoise compulsion didn't yield many appropriate scraps. And more neutrals, because they all got used up, too. Well, not all, but I,didn't have six yards of scraps and not enough in stash. Am also using some whites, and even white/greens blue and white/gold prints. But wanted to stay with the color palette, since it is a little out of my comfort zone. Just a few more days to wait now. And finishing my Edmund Fitzgerald quilt--that is the big lake in my avatar photo.

I love rereading the intro...great pictures and find new understanding of some portion each time. Yesterday , after rereading, I sat down and read the instructions for the companion ruler which I purchased last year with the easy angle for the Grand Illusion Mystery.....love the easy angle and use it all the time but never really discovered the awsomeness of the companion ruler till yesterday.....the other new thing was the linked joining of the blocks that Bonnie showed with the lozenge (leader/ender project 2014/15)quilt....what a great way to join the blocks and it kept everyone in the correct placement ! Now, really ready for Friday !

I took another look at Bonnie's fabric choices this morning... Her blacks had a lot of white in them. Her reds had a good bit of black in them. And her golds had every other color in them! I'm going to look at my selections again before Friday and broaden my horizons!

It's nice to have something to look forward to on Friday besides shopping!

I went to Joann's today and they have the 6 1/2 ruler for this at 40% off making it 5.99. Got that and a gray that looks dark next to the paint card. My other gray that I got looks like it is too light. Hmmm, not sure what to do. I looked again at her constant gray and it to my eyes it looks like there is a lot of dark in it. This is going to be so fun, am getting excited for Friday and the clue.
