seasaw2mch - yes, follow along and join us when you can.

QuiltingKrazy - I'm sure you'll come up with something. We are here to encourage you.

vickig626 - looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

QuiltE - Miss Peep is adorable. I was thinking along the lines of athenagwis, to have assorted sheep blocks surrounding the darling Bo-Peep.

charlottemarie - Welcome. Toby is adorable. Will his other blocks include bones to eat and butterflies to chase?

TOO MANYUFO's - sounds good. After all Franky isn't exactly my creation either. I took the character and made him my own by deciding to piece him together out of tiny little blocks. Taking a photo and converting it to an applique works for me.

QuiltE - well said about the character. Tell me what your next wish you could find time for project is and I might just start a challenge for it, too.

As I mentioned earlier, Franky is waiting for me for a while. I have some time as he wasn't even supposed to be started until August. Maybe, when I take a break from my glass etching I will sew a Franky head.

Glad to see so many people giving their characters life. And it's a great variety. Everyone give yourselves a pat on the back.
Since I love animals, I want to do something to honor the dogs I've had/have, as well as God's other 4-legged furry friends. I've never done anything like this so this is definitely outside my comfort zone.

TOOMANYUFOs - Hello Kitty goes visiting - love it.

Jenniky - I can't wait to see Mikey's friends as they emerge onto your design table and onto your design wall and beyond. Lucky Mikey to have a curvy girlfriend. Is her name Marilyn?

Shayzamm - little moo is adorable. Fabulous ideas for his other blocks.

huntersgrammie - this is a very helpful board. Someone seems to know the answer to every question.

vicki626 - sounds wonderful to honour a past 4 legged friend.

Love the ideas that are coming forth. Yes, I think we will be here for a good long time.

VickiG ... it's good to get out of your comfort zone at times and learn the new skill! It's a great group here that's bound to help you. Another way to create your furry friends would be using the squares as W4Me has ... or how about PPing? or perhaps this might inspire you ...

There's LOTS of possibilities!
And before you know it, you'll figure out what you'll do and be showing us your first sketches.

With some wonderful pointers from people in the general quilting forum, I think I really am going to tackle this project! It's based around the enigmatic main character(s) from the indie Playstation 3 game Journey, which has really captured my imagination. (If you've never heard of it, I would recommend a brief google image search of "journey thatgamecompany" for some pretty desert imagery.)

I think I might try out the method being used in a Mario quilt-a-long... not sure yet. I'll need to obtain the fabrics first! This might call for a trip to the store soon. Maybe taking it as a challenge will help motivate me not to let it sit once I get started!

Actual game style:
