I love converting patterns over! Liz92B lives in our official CowTown, with the Stampede starting this week. A real hootin' yeehaw time, for sure!!! Thus why my comments.

I love converting patterns over, so am always thinking ahead!! I have been wanting to change my Shepherd and his Sheep into Little BoPeep with her sheep. Or of course, there are the other nursery rhyme characters for possibilities.

Great news for you,
JenniKy on your potential move! Will that be near where you are now? Always a stress, to make all the decisions and to see it thru, though it looks like you're going at this with a plan, and will manage the stress!! Just be sure that your new home provides for your dream quilting space!!!

The house is about two hours away from where we are now. DH and I are extremely happy. We feel like we found our own paradise.. but then it always seems that way until you actually move in.. LOL Though we did do alot of homework on this search. Ideally we would like to go back to warmer weather in Arizona. Its just too far from the children. So this is our compromise. We are a days drive from two of my children one to the North and one to the South and then we would have to fly to see my oldest Shannon in Texas. The healthcare I will have will be less stressful and closer also. Driving into Chicago has always been very distressing for me. So the hospital I will be going to for treatment is in Danville Indiana which will be a huge de-stressor. Going to the park with GS for couple hours then will be some me time to sit and sew. I want to finish up sewing machine cover, however I have several other projects that are slotted for today. Will decide which Im going to work on when I get back. Let's hope the humidity outside doesnt drain all the energy out of me.

Muv- I read up on flax flowers ... I didnt know that it is the only true blue flower. All other flowers are actually a shade of purple according to the article I read. Interesting.

Would that be the Calgary Stampede? When I was growing up my parents used to go to Calgary frequently for my Dad's business conventions. They always timed it for the Stampede and loved it. I have never been though. Bet it lots of fun!

Thanks JenniKy ... I'm going to watch for it when I am out and about for the month long Shop Hop. I always like to have a visual of what I'm looking for. Mid State looks like a good option, and relatively close to the airports to head off to see your DD. And yes, good plan to avoid the windy city! That's really exciting that both of you are feeling it's your dream home. Now to put in the offer and get it for your new Home Sweet Home!

All ... Any more suggestions as to things to watch for when I'm in these different shops??
Already on my list are ...
* JenniKy's book (see above)
* 3"x9" ruler
* supreme slider or equivalent for FMQing (see below)
* goes without saying .... fabric!
* ???

RE .. Supreme Slider or ?? ... what products have you used to get the slipperyness when FMQing. Pro's? Con's?

Yes, QuiltE we have great WIFI yesterday and today. The last place was off and on.

I have cut out the PC blocks for this week, but they are not sewn. Don't want to get the sewing machine out until we reach our friends on Whidbey Island and can leave it out for a couple of weeks. I also have the last mystery quilt we did here on the board to sew together. I pinned it by rows, so it should be easy to do.

They have a wonderful quilt shop in Anacortes that I love to go to. I got a lot of my PC novelty fabric there last year in anticipation of doing the quilt.

Well, we are almost ready to get on the road. We are in Reno, NV right now, heading north.

Jenniky...since you will be going to Danville for treatments, did you know that they have a wonderful quilts shop/ retreat center there? Have you investigated living in Danville? http://www.threadsoftimefab.com/. Here's a link to the quilt store. I understand that there is also a very good one in Lafayette but I've never been there. I live about 35 miles south from there.

QuiltE - I toyed with the idea of a Supreme Slider, but I'm a cheapskate and wasn't keen on forking out 28 quid on something I could only see on an advert online. So I took a stroll into the kitchen and got some clingfilm and put a layer over the bed of the machine. No need to cut a hole for the feed dogs - the needle will puncture the hole it needs. Also it stays in place for ages, and if you need to replace it it costs next to zero. There was discussion about this in the vintage machine section. Read this thread and watch the video mentioned in post 24 - it gives the link.

Dublb - can you get him to sing Yellow Rose of Texas for us?

Wow, this has been a busy place over the last few days.

Thanks to everyone who wished a Happy Canada Day. We weren't quite rained out for our local celebration but the weather meant we took only the red and white MINI to the car show and Canada D'Eh hid in the car resting over the seats. I will see if any of the photos turned out. If so, will post. At least the MINI was dressed for the occasion. Many people took photos of friends with the car - they in their red and white with the red and white car with the red and white quilt so that was fun to watch.

QuiltE - Monty is a handsome devil. He may need little pink patches on his cheeks because of all the praise or is he the type to need a larger hat? lol You have done a great job and he was worth the wait.

The portion of the weekend not spent doing the household running around and shopping, nor at the Canada Day celebrations, was all spent etching glass. Got everything done that I have to have for this coming weekend's craft fair but still want to get more done as there are two more two-day craft fairs in July after this weekend. What was I thinking?
