Default It's Done, It's Done!!!

I didn't think I could do it, but it is completely done! Thank you so much for issuing this challenge! It is you who gave me the drive to complete this project in time for the 4th of July.\

Earlier I posted the pieced top, and below are pics of the finished project. It was quilted with Isacord Variegated thread called Old Glory. I just got Quilt Motion, a computerized quilting program, and this is the first quilt done with my Bernina on the frame using Quilt Motion, so it is extra special in more ways than one.

Thanks again for the encouragement to finish and for looking.

Are all my American friends celebrating in full style?
Hope you're enjoying your day and celebrations, despite this wicked heat we have all been blessed (?) with!

DublB ... everytime you mention Brady house ... my mind goes to The Brady Bunch!

OKSGlad ... well thank you!! I'm sure you could convert him into an American soldier, guard or whatever! Alas ... you're going to the family for celebrations instead of all gathering at yours!

Muv ... what an interesting little trip you sent us on!! And more to tell us tomorrow? The excitement builds!

Nursie ... You must have worked night and day, being that you didn't think it was possible! How exciting that you have it done, though I think with this heat you surely won't be needing it for awhile!! Looks ever so nice, and I do like that lighter blue binding. And talk about patriotic .... right down to the thread!!!

Now that's perfect!

Awh, thanks so much for the kind words.

QuiltE: I told my DH that we certainly don't need a quilt for this 4th of July, but my DS pointed out that there are other patriotic holidays like Memorial Day, when one might need it...he also said, "Besides, you can use a Patriotic Quilt any time you need to be warm." and you know, when one gets a surge of patriotism, it does kinda make you feel warm inside doesn't it? My DH is the one that picked the light blue for the binding. I wasn't sure how it would look, but I think it turned out very nicely! I will pass on your comment...it will make him smile.

Beautiful quilt, nursie! Don't forget Veteran's Day in your list of patriotic American holidays.
QE--how about Uncle Sam--"I Want You"?
Muv--Just started watching on PBS "Michael Woods, Story of England" Great history told from the commoner's point of view.

Nursie ... be sure to point out to those men-folk that I noted the patriotic thread ... and of course, you couldn't have chosen a better quilt design!

OKSGlad ... you're on! .... an Uncle Sam indeed. You can have til next year for completion. In the meantime, now that you're hanging out here, how about a Patriotic Mini? (that is if you can escape DGDs quilt understudy .... and all your other demands!)
