Monty went to the Fair on the weekend ... he's now a "Decorated Mountie"

His wardrobe now includes a "Red Ribbon" (that means First, in Canda).
The yellow card is a special invitation to the Provincial Fair Association's Annual Convention in February.
Only one or two items per Fair receive this yellow card, so I am absolutely thrilled!!!!!!!

**note** photo taken on my door this afternoon, being that I forgot to take one at the Fair!
I'll also post a thread tonight with the rest of my Fair updates.

Jenniky - What an upheaval for you with all the decisions! If in doubt, stay put and keep on sewing, that's always the best way. You sound happier for being settled on what you should do.

works4me - your latest block is a bit of a lark. I've got loads of real cobwebs here to match.

I'm still plodding on, here's a picture of the dates which will be at the centre of the quilt. I'm in a quandary about how to do the borders. It is going to have to be quick and easy - I've had my fill of blanket stitch for this project... Just one more bit to do on the central panel, then it will be decision time for the border panels.

Oh Monty looks grand indeed. Great job on all your "wins", you indeed deserve it with this wall hanging!

QuiltE - your post appeared while I was putting up mine! Took me by surprise to see Monty popping up. Congratulations! He's hiding a smile under that moustache!

Well this is hilarious - everyone is here at once. Is it collision of the time zones? It is gone nine o'clock and I have had my supper.

Thank You, one and all!!
... Monty and I appreciate your kind words!!

Liz92B ... lucky you to see The Ride. I've always seen it indoors and would sometime like to be on the sidelines for an outdoor performance.

Muv ... you think W4Me's latest is a lark? Heck, the whole quilt is!!
Your years look wonderful and I can understand your getting tired of the blanket stitch.
The good news is that you do a splendid job. It's ever so even and tidy.

I'm sure the border decision is difficult for you!! And to, I bet that after all this work, you want to make sure it is ever-so-right and not short-change it though. Of course, if you were to show us a photo, we could all pitch in with some ideas to confuse you more!! Though I know you are keeping it all a surprise for us.

The question might be ... do you need borders? Could you do it with the same background material you've used throughout and do some fancy quilting in to finish it up? Or perhaps some non-blanket stitch embroidery? Another idea might be a flange inset in the maroon of the numbers (or another colour?). And/Or a binding in the maroon?

No matter what you decide, I know it's going to be spectacular as the pieces we've seen, are just that, indeed!

Muv, great work as usual. Maybe you need a little break to re-energize you to continue the fabulous work that you are doing.

Yes, the whole Franky quilt is monstrous fun. Here is a link to the blocks done so far. http://www.flickr.com/photos/46696371@N07/ I'm up to April. So much for block of the month. I knew I couldn't do it.

QuiltE and Monty - Congratulations, you deserve it. And the yellow card is a real coup. Well done. I always knew you did great work QuiltE.
