Hope you think about entering this contest! I know we have alot of people who like to make doll quilts and this is not any differant. So jump in and see what you can come up with!!

Vanogay 08-28-2012 03:49 PM

Think I may try this. Surely, I can do a small quilt in 5+ weeks.

nancia 08-28-2012 08:41 PM

good! i definitely want to do this!:)

sewbeadit 08-28-2012 11:17 PM

This sounds like fun.

Rhonda 09-01-2012 09:12 PM

SharonAnne 09-03-2012 08:00 AM

Probably won't happen with my schedule, but can you enter more than one?

Rhonda 09-03-2012 08:10 AM

Just one quilt per member in this contest. I may open it up to more than one in the future but not now.

SewExtremeSeams 09-03-2012 08:18 AM

Sounds great Rhonda!

Vanogay 09-03-2012 08:20 AM

Sharon Ann, can't imagine doing more than one right now - and you're thinking more than one??? You must sleep alot less than I do if there's time for more than one! Make the second one for me - I'll send you my address!

Actually, I have never made a mini, and quite frankly, I have not made many full sized one's either. I prefer wall hangings, baby quilts, etc. LOL. I just thought the smaller the faster.. NO - not really?? I wanted to make one for the Alzheimer's organization - just thought if I was doing that, what's the problem with doing a second!! Apparently this is more time consuming that I thought (and I DO work FT, also). And I have been commissioned to crochet 2 afghans by mid-October, as well. I go to bed about midnight and am up by 5:30 or 6:00. Hmmm. Maybe my really bad habit of overachieving is getting me in too deep again. I always want to bite off more than I can chew. Now I'm hoping I can do at least one. Are you on the RAK list? You may be surprised someday, if you are.

Vanogay 09-03-2012 02:17 PM

What is RAK? Don't know if I am or not.

Rhonda 09-03-2012 02:47 PM

RAK means random acts of kindness.

Quilty Louise has been keeping addresses she receives and sending things to people who may need a lift.
Over time she has been asked to add people's names to her list.

So if you are interested in adding your name to her list here is her link - you can send your address in a pm

QuilterMomma 09-10-2012 03:44 PM

Will check out what I have made out of my UFOs that may be used here. I bet I have an entry.

Quercus Rubra 09-10-2012 07:02 PM

I will give it some consideration... as a newbie, I have some reservartions though. LOL.

SIncerely,
Tricia

Rhonda 09-16-2012 09:46 PM

nancia The entry date goes until Oct 10 so you could still make one between the 2nd and the 10th if you want to. It's up to you tho.

QuiltingKrazy 09-20-2012 04:12 PM

OK I'm in! I think... Gotta get busy and come up with an idea. So the 10th is the deadline???

JNCT14 09-20-2012 04:27 PM

As it turns out I haveto make a baby quilt for a little girl and a doll quilt bonus would be just the thing! I'm in!

Adriane 09-21-2012 10:14 AM

Can it be a bit of a mini art quilt?

I don't see why not. The rules say any technique.

Rhonda 09-21-2012 10:31 AM

I didn't limit this one in any way other than size. So an art quilt will fit right in just fine.

Yes the last day to submit an entry is Oct 10.

I hope to see lots of entries!!!

QuilterMomma 09-21-2012 11:35 AM

Mine will be there for sure.

maine ladybug 09-30-2012 11:36 AM

Sent my pictures to Patrice!

SharonAnne 09-30-2012 10:00 PM

I couldn't resist the lure of this contest, so I made my mini-quilt today. It's pieced and quilted. All that's left is the binding and to figure out how to best hang it. I should have that done by Wed if my boss doesn't want me to work overtime, and this is definitely a possibility. I'm very much looking forward to photos. Hopefully we won't see the competition until the deadline is over, though. Is that how it works?

Happy Monday, everyone.

Rhonda 10-01-2012 07:57 AM

Pictures will be posted by Oct 14 so everyone can vote. You'll have 10 days to vote on the entries

SewExtremeSeams 10-01-2012 09:38 AM

Hoping to enter mine this week!

Vanogay 10-02-2012 08:16 AM

Over to e-mail for entry. Excited to see others, as well.

QuilterMomma 10-03-2012 03:30 PM

Ah, that was exciting, got my entry mailed off. This will be a very pretty show for us.

Rhonda 10-03-2012 04:49 PM

I'm looking forward to seeing all the entries!!

QuiltingKrazy 10-08-2012 06:09 AM

I have to bow out of this one as my creation I was working on ended up about 20" not 18". I'd start on another one
but don't really have time. Maybe next time! Good luck to those who enter, I can't wait to see them and vote!

QuiltingKrazy 10-09-2012 05:52 PM

OK, I figured out how to cut out a couple of inches! YEA! Now all I have to do is finish my binding and send my pictures in! It may be late tomorrow before I get the pictures sent so I hope midnight is the deadline.

Rhonda 10-09-2012 06:19 PM

You'll be fine as long as you get the emails sent tomarrow some time.
