I do a lot of applique, and my glue stick is a favorite tool of mine and I thought it might work and walla! Worked like a charm. Ronda I was wondering about them glue sticks. I have not tried using one yet. Will have to run right out and buy one and give it a go. What a wonderful idea. :) :) :) So how do you like the process so far?? I love glue!!!! The "washable school glues" are made out o' starch & wash out. They are made this way ta protect kids clothes & 'cause kindergarteners will eat the glue. I use the glue sticks for thick things I liquid glue for bias edges. I always heat set my glue. I made 2 o' my Pony Club blocks w/out glue & those 2 are wonky. All o' the rest o' my PC blocks will be made w glue!!!
PS I always wash my quilt when I'm through. Part o' the reason is ta git the glue out.:) |

Yes, I use Elmer's School Glue or Playschool School Glue. Both liquid and stick type. If you have not seen these videos from Sharon Schambers using this glue to attach bindings it is a must to see. I have used this method for about 2 years now for all my bindings.

I've also used Elmer's and would recommend the finer tips that you can get so the glue is spread in a fine line. If you want a faster setting glue that you don't have to iron for a quick set, Roxanne makes a womderful one. A little bit goes a long way and will hold a long time without any ill effects if you don't get back to it right away.
