WOW...I'm in. I just found this thread and it is fabulous. Since this is the second year I joined the Fabric Mortatorium, this should be fun as well as a challenge. Love it, Love it, Love it. Thank you "quiltmaker 101" for this wonderful idea and to encourage us to stretch our imagination.
Added Note: yahoo...page 101 and the 1001 post.

Default Challenge - using scraps

I had some scrap fabric left over from making baby quilts. So this week I took the scraps and made 3 more baby quilts and still had enought to make a doll quilt as seen in Picture #1.

Default Scrap quilt challenge

After I finished the 3 baby quilts, I still had more small scraps and this is what I did with them:

I made 2 burp clothes from left over flannel

The small pile of scraps will be saved for our scrap dive at our quilt show

The large pile of scraps will go into the yellow pillow to make a bed for a kitty or puppy at the shelter for them to sleep on while they are there and also to take home with them when they go to their new home.

I up for it also. I,ve done 3 of Bonnie,s quilts and still have lots of scraps left. I think I could do all of her quilts and not run out. I was even thinking of doing a crazy quilt to use up odd shaped pieces.
right now i,m doing a pp pattern and have lots of scraps from that and am only part done with it.(more scraps coming) hehehe

All my scraps go into making doggy and kitty blankets for the animal shelter downtown. I get rid of the nuisance pieces and the animals get a nice cozy bed. It's a win win.

I just love getting to use every scrap of fabric by making puppy bags. I feel like I waste nothing and like you say the puppies & kitties get something warm. It is diffently a win! win!

Here's a leader/ender scrap quilt I did at my daughter's house while I was there for 3 weeks May '11. Scraps & stash only! I am doing the UFO challenge also, so this was one of the 2 that I posted in that challenge too. I am vowing to get lots of UFO's finished this year...alot of them are scrap quilt tops or tablerunners. So will work on them all while working on other things too. I actually love how this one came together...just pulled colors I liked together in 2 1/2" squares & (4 1/2" squares & sashing came from stash). Backing/binding from stash, too.

This is my lastest quilt made from scraps: The Cut-up (www.piecedtreepatterns.com) I used left over fabric to make this quilt (front & back). This quilt will be donated to Hospice to auction off at their annual ball.

Default Doggie Bags

Here are 6 more bags to go to the puppy pound for the littles one to have a bed. Most of the scraps are donated by our quilt club members. The outsides are made from wonder fabric (wonder what I was thinking when I bought this).
