There is no set demands on us as far as I am concerned on this Challenge. It is about us making things happen. I read an article about putting a system in place to reach your goals. We all said 12 for the year, one a month, then if we do not finish one in that month, then we work harder to do it the next month. Life happens, so we just need to keep encouraging one another to move forward. I like this chat seeing everyone's success. I am a competitive person and seeing your successes, drives me to do more. So stay in and just move forward.

I mentioned to my DH this am about having the kids room soon for my sewing stuff and I got a chuckle, imagine that? As if half the garage is not enough and part of the family room, he chuckled at a bedroom also, Who would figure. How is the Orca Mystery quilt coming?

I read about using Press n' Seal on quilts back about 2 years ago,
but never really knew how to use it.
I am doing some sampler blocks in between quilting my tops. I may use this idea on
those blocks.

First month over, and I am working on the UFO's between 15 other projects. I have 2 ready for the longarmer (I send them out), and when they are back, I have the binding already to go on!!! I have to pick up the Husky from the repair person, and I will machine quilt my small paper pieced christmas wall hanging. I feel like I have accomplished alot this January!!!!

Let us know if it works for the hand quilting. I was wondering if the stitches would be close enough for it to tear off. Hmmm Wondering also if the Press & Seal would be hard to needle. We'll never know if one of us doesn't try it.

Well, January came & went & I got no UFO's done...so I decided to jump right in & get things going this month. I have several quilt tops that just need quilting & binding. I have to be in the mood to do the quilting, so when I get into that mood, I lay sheets all over the room to get ready for the spray baste (it still gets everywhere) & it will stay like this for a week or two till I get the tops all ready for the quilting process. So yesterday I got 2 quilt tops ready & today I quilted & bound them. So January & February UFO's are taken care of! (Happy dance...) Actually, killed 3 birds with 1 stone on this one...the finished quilts for this challenge, a scrappy quilt for the scrappy challenge on the board, & the UFO challenge for the quilt guild I'm in. Anyway, here are the 2 totally finished quilts. I did the tops while visiting my daughter in N.C. for 3 weeks in May '11. I made about a half dozen tops during that time as I sew while she's at work. The scrappy one is the leader/ender scrap quilt (& stash). The daisy one was a spur of the moment buy...saw the blue, yellow, & pink daisy fabric (I think it was at her Hancocks fabrics), so found a couple other fabrics to go with it, shopped in her quiltbooks to find a pattern I liked (forget what it's called and by who), and made the top. Finishing, I shopped my stash. So, my UFO's will begin by getting all those finished.
