  1. Butter Pecan Turtle Bars

    These are a hit where ever I take them
    so good, but not necessarily good for you

    Crust:
    2 Cups of flour
    1 Cup brown sugar
    1/2 cup softened butter

    (Pat into an ungreased jelly roll pan)
    Sprinkle 1 cup (more if you want) Pecans over unbaked crust.

    Caramel Layer:
    2/3 cup butter
    1/2 cup brown sugar
    (in a heavy saucepan combine brown sugar and butter. Cook over medium heat, boil 1/2 to 1 minute stirring ...

  2. Boiling Water Pie Crust

    If you haven't tried this yet you may want to' It's super easy and isn't easily messed up.
    1/4 c. boiling water
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. flour, sifted
    1/2 t. baking powder
    1/2 t. salt
    Pour boiling water over sortening, beat until creamy.stir in dry ingredients . Form into a ball and chill for 2 hours. Roll out . Place in pie pan and bakeat 450 for 15 to 18 minutes. My 11 year old great granddaughter makes this and uses cherry pie filling. Really good.

    Cheddar Meat Loaf

    1-Egg
    ¾ C. Milk
    1-C. Shredded Cheddar cheese
    ½ C. Quick Oats
    ½ C. Chopped Onion
    1 tsp. Salt
    1# hamburger
    2/3 C. Ketchup
    ½ C. packed brown sugar
    1 ½ tsp. prepared mustard
    ½ chopped green pepper

    Combine all ingredients, put into a loaf pan.
    Cook at 350 for 1 ½ hr. Let stand about 15 min. before serving
