Wow, I want to try this (I love cooking with garlic!), but I don't have two metal bowls the same size.

I would love to hear from someone who did give this a try though. If it works, it would be worth getting a couple of same-sized bowls.

I think you could also use plastic bowls and shake them .......give it a try..... it is the shaking back and forth that skins them....

Dang! I just came back from the store with a jar of minced. Oh well not going to use that much anyway. Beats smacking and you can put it into a Ziploc. and right into the fridge.

I heard this same tip on NPR radio show on my drive to work one morning last year...they said to use metal bowls...a few quick shakes and done. I haven't tried it myself.

I tried that (bowls) and also the plastic sleeve, I was underwhelmed with the results. My best tip, use OLD garlic, it peels really easy. My neighbor gave me her last-year's garlic that she still had when this year's crop came in. It practically peels itself.

The guy in this video says it takes less than 10 seconds of shaking! Can't wait to try it..

I tried the bowl method and yup, it works!!!! Thanks for sharing. Blessed are those who help make my job a bit easier.
