Default Broccoli Salad

Made this for the first time today and it is delish!

2 heads of broccoli, cut into bite size pieces
2 1/3 cups of raisins
1/2 of a small red onion
1/2 a small pkg of slivered almonds
10 pieces of bacon crispy fried and crumbled

Combine the above and add dressing

1 Cup of mayo
1/2 Cup sugar
2 TBSP Vinegar

Chill for several hours.

My mother was making this each week, as she loved it so. She added a chopped up apple to it, along with the raisins. It was very good that way too!

I make a similar recipe. No bacon, cashews instead of almonds, and I add curry powder to the Mayo. Love this recipe!!

No you do not cook the broccoli you marinate the salad in the dressing, the broccoli gets a little soft that way.
