We use the Dump Bars recipe all the time. (I use 2/3 cup cocoa) You can also try peanut butter chips, or mint flavored chips on top. No need for frosting, and they stay moist and yummy.

I generally prefer to use the Ghiradelli Brownie Mix. The Duncan Hines & Betty Crocker are okay.

I would only make brownie mix brownies until I had these:

BROWN SUGAR BROWNIES
By: Land O Lakes
Preparation time: 15 min Baking time: 25 min
Yield: 24 brownies

1 cup firmly packed Light Brown Sugar
1/2 cup LAND O LAKESŪ Butter, softened
2 eggs
2 (1-ounce) squares unsweetened baking chocolate, melted
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts

Heat oven to 325°F. Combine brown sugar and butter in large bowl. Beat at medium speed until creamy. Add 1 egg at a time, beating well after each addition. Add melted chocolate; continue beating until well mixed. Reduce speed to low; add flour. Beat until well mixed. Stir in nuts.

Pour batter into greased 8-inch square baking pan. Bake for 25 to 28 minutes or until brownies just begin to pull away from sides of pan. (DO NOT OVERBAKE.) Cool in pan; cut into bars.

Nutrition Facts (1 brownie): Calories: 130, Fat: 9g, Cholesterol: 30mg, Sodium: 40mg, Carbohydrates: 12g, Dietary Fiber: 1g, Protein: 2g

To use chocolate chips instead of unsweetened chocolate
reduce sugar by 1/4 c to 3/4 cup
reduce butter by 2 tbsp to 6 tbsp
use 1 c chocolate chips

Can be doubled to use 9x 13" pan. Bake 35 min.

The secret seems to be the brown sugar and the butter. I haven't tried substituting cocoa for the unsweetened chocolate.

I am going to give the brown sugar brownies a try. They are easy enough to do, too. Thanks for sharing.
