Cheesecake Cookies

2/3 c. margarine
2/3 c. paked brown sugar
2 c. flour
1 c. finely chopped walnuts
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. sugar
2-8 oz packages cream cheese
2 eggs
4 T. milk
2 T. lemon juice
Cream butter and brown sugar in a bowl. Add flour and walnuts. Mix till it looks like a crumb mixture. Reserve 2 cups for the topping. Press remainder into bottom of pie pan. Barke 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes or until lightly browned.
Meanwhile, blend sugar with the cream cheese until smooth. Add eggs, milk, lemon juice and vanilla. Beat well. Spread mixture over the baked crust. Sprinkle with reserved crumb mixture.
Bake 350 degrees for 25 minutes. When its cool cut into 2 inch squares.

I'm confused....do you bake the crust in a pie pan or a square/rectangle pan? The recipe says to cut into squares after final baking. Squares out of a pie pan? Please clarify. It sounds yummy and I'll probably try making it.
