Hi, our quilt guild is having a 'tea party' complete with hats and gloves. LOL I'd like to try and make crumpets. Anyone have a great recipe? Thanks

Check out Allrecipes.com or Tasteofhome.com

The one recipe they have is the same. It would be the one I would use.

If you would like to make truly authentic English crumpets, have a look at www.bbcgoodfood.com, then put crumpets into the search. I have made lots of these recipes and they are good. My English family like them toasted, buttered and served hot. You could also try the scones with cream and jelly. Enjoy!

Thanks to you all for these great suggestions. Just thinking of scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam reminds me of going to a neat little place in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. Yum. And, warmed cream with the your coffee spoiled me.

crumpets are like little pancakes...maybe scones or shortbread would be more partyish?
Ask google for any recipe, their answers are endless!

Yes, that's what I thought when the guild leader suggested it. According to the recipes others have suggested they are also raised. It was presented as a Tea party complete with fun dress-up hats and, of course, gloves LOL.

Our Library hosts a tea every year and we do scones, clotted cream, smoked salmon , cucumber sandwiches, egg and mayo sandwiches, fresh fruit, potted meat sandwiches, jams, cheeses and of course tea.
