I've heard them referred to as a "dough press."

You could use it to make perogies, round ravioli or probably anything small that you want to stuff & then crimp together. You put the crust/pasta dough in the body, fill it with whatever filling you happen to be making, pull the top down & press it & it should crimp the edges & you then cook whatever it is you are making.

I have a set of 3 in different sizes. They are great for making the grandkids little sandwiches using light bread. Any type of filler will work. Peanut butter and jelly were a favorite. Tuna fish and pimento cheese also worked really well.

Yes it is to crimp the edges of pasta or turnovers with filling in the middle. I had one years ago.

It is used for making mini pies or tarts. You put a circle of dough on it and add filling. Flip and squeeze the handles to seal the pie. I think I would spray the mold with cooking spray before I put the dough on for easy removal. I have them in several sizes.

Now that is what I was thinking about, the pbj popped in my mind first. They would make cute sandwiches for lunch at school, other kids would be green with envy.
