Thread: Frosting for a Lemon Cake

Any suggestions for an easy frosting for a lemon cake.

yummmmm lemon cake.. yum yum.. i cheat- i buy the tub.. sorry i cant help..

i believe they sell premade lemon frosting.

How about a glaze instead of frosting. I like this recipe.

Lemon Glaze -

2/3 Cup Sifted Powdered sugar
2 Tablespoons Fresh Lemon Juice
1 Teaspoon Grated Lemon Rind
Put the sugar, lemon juice & lemon rind in a small bowl. Whisk together until well blended & smooth. Drizzle over lemon pound cake or any other cake.

For something as nice and light as a lemon cake, I cheat. I bake it in my pretty bundt pan and then just dust the top with sifted icing sugar.

My dh's favorite cake is lemon with milk chocolate icing. His birthday was recently and I baked his cake. He took it to work to share with co-workers. I like lemon pound cake - lemon cake mix, 4 eggs, 1/2 cup oil, a box of instant pudding and the water needed for the cake baked in a bundt pan with the above posted glaze on it. And I like homemade cream cheese frosting on lemon cake, too. Cake mixes are fine with me, but I'm not a fan of canned frosting.

I like to do a marshmallow.
