poormans pie is when my grammy had left over piedough she would do a little tin with the crust then stir up canned milk with a little flour, sugar and cinnamon with her finger and put it in the oven with the rest of the pies... I am not sure if an egg went in it or not, I will have to make one with an egg and one without. and see.... I miss her rubarb custard pie................

OH!! My Mom always made little pinwheels out of leftover dough when she made pies. She'd put cinnamon and sugar in them. I forgot until you reminded me. I'll have to tell her to do them when I go home :)

I used to make homemade donuts for my kids growing up. I'd buy the canned biscuits, punch a hole in the middle and spread them out some. Drop them in hot crisco and turn until brown on both sides. Let them cool and ice them with chocolate canned icing. My girls thought it was the best thing since sliced bread. My middle daughter Kim was 31 years old when she found out how simple the donuts were to make. She said after all these years I thought you slaved to make those donuts. I told her I did. LOL Love those memories.
