My husband makes these and they are a BIG hit!! Now he just makes the greens beans loose in a casserole dish without the bacon wrap part. He lays 2 or 3 slices of bacon over the top. Still really good!

My DH does this on the bbq grill. It's a charcoal grill. He uses fresh green beans. I semi cook the bacon on one side then help him wrap the green beans bundles. We lay a sheet of the hvy duty aluminum foil on the grill then place the bundles on it. I rarely use canned anything anymore. To easy to fix the fresh. Fresh disappears faster at our house than canned. Would be easy to cook ahead of time and finish them at the campground.

I am sure they could be cooked, But, you would have to keep reaching them with the marinade, The beans and brownish glucose is a large amount of the flavor, Love'em....

I have a similar recipe, but you marinade the bundles overnight . Bake 350 for 30 minutes. I wonder how it would be with really good basalmic vinegar.....hmmmm...going to the kitchen now....
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup melted butter
3/4 Tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon soy sauce

We also wrap the green beans up with bacon then just pour French dressing all over them and bake them for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Sounds yucky, but it is delicious!
