Default Kale Chips! Love them!

These are so good! I like them better then potato chips and I can eat as many as I want with no guilt. Added bonus DH will eat them instead of chips with his sandwich. Great in a salad, adds a lot of crunch instead of croutons.

Pull Kale from the stem in about 2" size
Be sure the Kale is completely dry
Lay in single layer on baking sheet
drizzle olive oil over the Kale
Add a sprinkling of salt, not much, the Kale will dehydrate and get salty
Bake 20 mins at 275 degrees
Turn over the Kale and bake about 15 more.

Interesting, I have never heard of these. But they sound like a great snack!

Do you know if these can be tried with other greens?

My DDIL made these last summer...I was glad we were not there to have to try them. While I admire her ability to find new ways to eat healthy things, I was glad not to be there to try them. :-) Glad you like them. She has also made beet chips.

I grew kale one year in lower MI. It was so bitter, I couldn't eat it, but I had three canaries that thought they had died and gone to bird heaven.

I'll definitely try this. I have to laugh when people say they don't like kale. If you buy it fresh it's good. I bought it frozen and the stems were mixed in and it was awful. I drink carrot juice and people laugh over that. I make my own in the juicer with celery and apple and it's so sweet. I even have my husband drinkng it.

Ok love them completely. I use sea salt not regular salt and yes they are horribly ugly. they look like ..dried seaweed. I had a friend in the veggie department last year bring me a bag he made and said I HAD to try them and stared at me while I held the bag. I thought oh crud now I have to eat a few. I did said um these were good.. not sure if I liked them. by the time I got to the register I had eaten the whole sandwich bag of them. I made them several times since then and they are very good if you can get past the ugly on looks. I do NOT eat seaweed but kale chips oh yes. oh and sometimes I put parmesean shreds on it too when its baking.. talk about a cheesy salty crispy snack. yum. thanks for posting. not everything healthy is bad tasting at all.

I make these for my vegan daughter all the time. We experiment with different seasonings, the garlic peppercorn rub from Pampered chef was one of her favs.

I cook kale like I do baby spinach, wilted in a little oil and sauteed. The kale needs to be stripped from the stems before cooking. My kids loved it in scrambled eggs and now the grands eat it that way. My family loves fresh picked polk sallet so that may be why we like kale. Kale potato soup is another favorite. Kale use to be almost impossible to find in the grocery stores.
