Default Smoking a roast in the crockpot

I haven't posted in a long time. A lot of life events have gotten in the way. Glade to have a little time now. It seems someone posted how to smoke a roast in the crockpot does anyone remember the recipe or how to do this?

I don't know about actually smoking a roast in the crockpot, but this recipe uses liquid smoke:

I rarely eat beef but that actually sounds pretty good. Gotta love those crockpots!

I just made it with Worcestershire sauce instead of liquid smoke. Will see how it turns out! If it's good, next time I'll cut the recipe in half so I don't have to give half of it away.

Saving this idea for the brisket waiting patiently in the freezer :-)

Oooohhh, we have a beef brisket in the refrigerator. Hubby says this sounds better than the recipe I was going to try. We may try this one!

OK, this is in the crockpot right now...supper's cooking! I read all the rave reviews on the website and did cut back on the seasonings and liquid smoke and added some worcestershire sauce. Actually, I didn't measure, but just added a good sprinkle of everything to both sides of the meat. It smells good in here already.

I didn't cook mine long enough and it came out chewy. Dh says we can fix that by cooking it some more. The juices were ***way*** too salty! For a 2-lb roast, definitely cut all of the seasonings in half. Also, don't skimp on cooking time. I have an old crock pot (they cook at lower heat than modern ones) and 7.5 hours was not enough for a 2.5lb roast -- at least, not long enough to make it tender.
