Not sure about Starbucks, but when I worked at a coffee bar we made our own. The Mocha base was from Mexican hot chocolate. PM me if I can answer any thing else.

My DH was addicted to the Frappacinnos, and I started making them with really strong coffee, milk and additional chocolate. Took a little trial and error, but he finally got to where he liked them just as well. A LOT cheaper to make.

My DD uses the Mexican hot chocolate from World Market and it is very good. I bought some to use in my coffee and I like it when I want a treat. I love my Kona coffee black and strong.

OH GEE, Hubby goes out of his way to buy Mc D's iced coffee since they are only $ 1. until Tues --been that all summer. I think he is trying to drink all he can knowing the bargain is going to stop. We buy 3 caramel flavor to have one each then he says he's really thirsty so needs that second one. Sounds like a kid .
Oh, if they would only take out the calories as neither of us should be drinking this many to be healthy.

Funny thing he doesn't buy them at full price here in Ontario.

The coffee roasting company I used to work for used both ready made chocolate milk and chocolate syrup with espresso for their mochas.

The hot chocolate is steamed chocolate milk and chocolate syrup.

Very sweet and rich.

Another use for chocolate milk, use when making Bird's Custard plus some extra cocoa powder. Very yummy.

I have had Starbuck's Frappacino, I didn't pay for it. Next morning I had to go to the grocery store since out of creamer. I like the International Delights Hazelnut and Southern pecan. They now have Hazelnut with macchiato. I made a couple cups to put into a large glass. Made coffee as usual. I only use enough creamer to coat the bottom. Later for supper I had my own version of a frappacino and it was a whole lot better than Starbuck's maybe also because it was lot cheaper.

I never had a taste for coffees like that except for one. My brother bought me a Traverse City cherry cappuccino a few years back. I really liked it. There are only a few places that carry it in my area but that's ok because they are a little expensive not to mention the calories. I'm sure it is loaded with calories. So now it is just a nice little treat once in awhile when I find them. I love coffee & have been drinking too much of that for years. I keep saying I'm going to gradually cut down but that doesn't seem to happen. I need more will power I guess.
