Pineapple Oatmeal Cookies

1/2 c. soft butter or margarine
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 c. (9 oz. can) crushed pineapple
1-1/2 c. rolled oats
1 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. each baking soda,
salt and ground cinnamon
dash of ground nutmeg
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Cream butter. Add sugars and beat until light. Add egg and beat well. Add pineapple, oats, sifted dry ingredients and nuts; mix well. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake in preheated moderate 375 degrees oven for about 15 minutes. Makes about 4 dozen.
