Easy Macaroons dipped in chocolate.

These are amazing and easy peasy.

Mix one can condensed milk with one package coconut and one teaspoon vanilla.

Place in cookie size balls on parchment paper. (I used a spoon to dip out as they are sticky).

Bake in 350 oven for 20 minutes. (Check your oven for time - macaroons should be brown on top and bottom.

Allow to cool.

Melt dipping chocolate in microwave to soften then dip macaroon cookies to coat bottom. Store in fridge. Yummy.

Let me know if you have any questions.

How long do they last? One to two hours?

lfstamper 11-06-2011 06:31 PM

Barely an hour...lol. You will love them.

YUM-I think I'll make them soon, but I'll put an almond in the center of each coconut ball.

Sounds good, thanks!

Do you not use egg whites?

sharon1 12-09-2011 08:30 PM

Sure glad I found this as I plan to do some Christmas baking tomorrow so I will try this out. I think I will also dip a few in white chocolate.

I really miss eating coconut...and macaroons were my all time fave...sigh...

lfstamper 12-14-2011 07:08 PM

I use the normal size bag of coconut (I think it is 5 oz), sweet coconut. No egg whites and they are yummy!

Chocolate Macaroons - updated - my bad

I just got back from store too and double checked the size of the coconut bag and it was 14 oz - the blue bakers coconut. Just use enough condensed milk to make it thick with the coconut (if you bought a smaller bag). Sorry for the confusion!
