Electric Pie Machine
 

i am a sucker for kitchen gadgets. I received a small electrice pie cooker for Christmas does anyone else here have one? i only tried mine one time and found it didn't work very well for me does anyone here have one and did you have successwith it, if so what receipe did you use?

I have one and it works great. I use my normal pie receipes just make my pie crust and cut out the size for the pie maker. I have also used it to make fruit filled cupcakes. Just remember to check them after about 10 minutes to make sure the crust is done.

I have a friend who has one and she loves it - they can make individual sized pies and put them in the freezer for quick grabs. I also googled a little and found some recipes for chicken pot pies, etc. Seems like they would be good for the person on the go - or just want to be able to grab something quick.

I have seen these and I do want one. I have the BabyCakes Pop maker and the Individual Sticks Waffle maker. I bought those for the Grandchildren to use when they come over. I want the pie maker for me

My DH bought one for himself a couple of weeks before Christmas and has used it 2-3 times. They work OK, but you have to be careful not to overfill the crusts. Also, he used purchased Pillsbury piecrusts. The instructions said to roll them thinner, but he found that he liked it better if he left the thickness and used them that way. The pies seemed to hold up better.

When our DD came home for Christmas the two of them got together and made a bunch of pies one afternoon, enough to put in our freezer plus quite a few to give to Grandpa so he could have "homemade" pies without having to bake.

The only problem he has noticed with his pie baker is that it seems to cook hotter on one side, so a couple of the little pies get done faster than the others. But he just keeps his eye on them and takes the pies out in stages as they are done.

He seems to like his pie baker just fine.
