Fettuccine Alfredo
This is absolutely the best Fettuccine Alfredo recipe! So easy too! The basil and nutmeg is what sets it apart from other Alfredos. It closely resembles Olive Garden's Alfredo if you add some blackened chicken strips! We also like it sometimes without the nutmeg. It is rich!
8 ounces dry fettuccine pasta 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese 1/2 cup margarine 1/2 cup milk 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1/4 teaspoon dried basil 1 pinch ground nutmeg Directions: 1) Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain. 2) In a medium saucepan, combine cream cheese, Parmesan, margarine, milk, garlic powder and basil and stir over low heat until smooth and creamy, 10 to 15 minutes. Toss sauce with pasta and sprinkle with nutmeg. (Serves 4). |
Sounds yummy, my husband loves the Fettuccine Alfredo from the Olive Garden. I like thier Chicken Parmesan.

I think it needs some bacon just to round out the fat content.:D It sounds like a great dish, nutmeg makes anything taste great. I will give it try, sans bacon.
I make a bean and spinach soup and everybody asks what the secret ingredient is. Well, it's nutmeg! Yummmm! peace |
Thanks for posting, I had looked on the internet last week for an Alfredo sauce and this one sounds good.

Thanks for sharing! Sounds yummy!!! I'd have to substitute (healthier) butter for the margarine, though.
