fried stuffing balls

Today on a TV show they mentioned fried stuffing balls... I've searched but I'm more interested in knowing if " actual" people do this ??? I don't want to make stuffed chicken balls or vegie balls...just want to know is there a tradition that you do with this that is actually from " stuffing" ???

Never heard of this before, but if you can fry Twinkies and Milky Way bars, why not stuffing balls? I'd be full of stuffing from "tastes" while I was shaping them and waiting for the oil to heat!!

;)

Instead of deep frying ... I'm thinking it'd be packing the stuffing into a ball, and then frying in a skillet. MIght be a way of re-heating leftovers.

Though for me, I'd probably just microwave, or if a large quantity, put into the crockpot with some broth, and reheat.

I think I saw something similar, though they were stuffing pancakes, to serve with eggs for breakfast. Seems like it may have been a commercial or perhaps an ad for what would be on an upcoming program.

You could take a look at the website for the boxed stuffing mixes, as they often have a lot of recipes using stuffing mixes.

I make a fried dressing, or that's what I call it. I mix up my self rising cornmeal with buttermil and an egg. Then I add some chopped onion and chopped celery and sage. Deep fry the same as you would hush puppies.

My mom used to make breading balls out of the leftover breads crumbs and eggs when she breaded meat. she would fry them up in the pan as she fried the chicken or pork chops. Tasty treat for us kids. It would think fried dressing would be the same.

Why not?? I make dressing into muffins, freeze them and give to dear Gdaughter, cause she likes my dressing and can have it when she desires.
