Looking for a "soft" English Toffee Candy Recipe
Hi, I'm wondering if you girls can help me? For a good number of years I have made an English Toffee Candy that many people rave about, and I really appreciate the comments. However, at one time I tried a sample of a slightly softer version of the English Toffee Candy, at a craft fair. I wished I would of ask the gal what temp she cooks her candy at, but I didn't. Now I'm still looking for a recipe that cooks to a lower temp of 290 degrees. One can waste a lot of time, just testing , as I have done. I would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

"Soft" English Toffee
Do you think it could have been the ingredients rather than the temperature that made it soft, such as more butter or cream?
I know there is soft crack and hard crack, but it would seem that alone may not make it softer, but maybe chewier or stickier? Not sure, just occurred to me. |
Soft English toffee
I make it every Christmas cook it to 240 degrees 250 at the most depending on what your altitude is. I do mine at 240 here in Utah

I made a toffee with Saltine crackers, sounds weird but it is really good and not so hard on your teeth.

We had some toffee at a chocolate shop in Chicago that was a bit of heaven. Don't think they will share the recipe but it would be nice...

Mary, I posted the recipe in the recipe section for you for the Easy Terrific Toffee with Saltine Crackers.
