Has anyone made pretzels using frozen bread dough?
Any tips. recipes, or ideas would be appreciated? |
I have made them from canned and they turned out very good. The frozen dough would be very easy. Just let it defrost good and cut in narrow strips, twist and put on a greased cookie sheet, brush with egg wash and sprinkly with salt or sugar, whichever is your preferenc.

Thanks, Shirleyg. I think I'll give it a try.

Another question, Shirleyg.
Do the pretzels need to be eaten warm, or can they wait a few hours? |
I've used the bread stick dough and formed a figure 8 shape then baked it. When done dip in melted butter on one side then into a sugar/ cinnamon mixture. So good and not fattening at all NOT!!! glenda

For those in Indiana there is an amish grocery store in Shippy that sells a mix for pretzsls, it makes mouth watering pretzels. I buy several bags and throw in the freezer.

Oh my I need a pretzel. Thank You

Don't the pretzels have to be cooked briefly in a baking soda and water solution before baking? All the "from scratch" recipes I've seen say to do that. ????
