Thanks Crafty Bear, you are just an asset to this website, we appreciate all the time you donate to helping us out and providing good reading. I prepare this same recipe, but I use strawberries and strawberry junket jello. Strawberries are on sale more often than raspberries in our area. I get many compliments on this recipe, it's a winner. I top it off with whipped cream to, decant!!! Another advantage, when entertaining, one can make it two days ahead of time. I have found the the jello bleeds onto the cream mixture after the third day...if you can keep this dessert that long. I dare you to try.

I was first introduced to this wonderful recipe while attending a Christmas pot luck dinner at our local quilting guild. I liked it so much I asked for the recipe and have served it many times to my family since then. I have made it with sugar free jello, low fat cream cheese, and nonfat CoolWhip and it is still wonderful. I also like to eat it for dessert.

It's been a couple years since I've made it but it was extremely yummy and everyone wanted the recipe. Great for a potluck.

Haven't looked at the link yet, but everytime I see the name of this recipe I wonder "why is it called a salad?" I absolutely love it, have also made it with strawberries/strawberry jello.
Thanks for sharing with everyone! |
I also have a version of this recipe. Have used it for holidays. Why is it that these wonderful dishes are usually only served on special occasions. The main thing I like, is, the pretzels give the taste of nuts in this dish and when one is allergic to nuts, this is an excellent substitute! And Delicious!!!!!

I also have a version of this that uses crushed pineapple. You thicken the pineapple wit 1 T. cornstarch.
