Rhubarb Custard Pie

Growing up in the upper midwest I remember a rhubarb pie that had a custard type filling. It had bite sized pieces of rhubarb and also nuts (I'm thinking walnuts). The custard was white and very creamy. Does anyone have a recipe for this. Rhubarb does not grow well in Ga and I sure do miss my Mom garden that had several rows of different varieties so we had a long season and many pies. Thanks for your help.

Now that sounds interesting ... walnuts and rhubarb!

There's been several rhubarb recipes posted in a few threads recently ... just go down thru this list and you'll find the threads.

Rhubarb custard pie !! Yummy My Mom makes it! and blueberry custard... she made her custard, chopped up rhubarb and fill the bottom of the pie and pour the custard in over the rhubarb and bake the same as for her blueberries.. now mind you, the fruit floats to the top .. now I want some pie!
