Self crusting Peach Cobbler'

THis is so good and so easy. You can use Canned peach Pie,apple pie or any already prepared canned pie fruit for this cobbler.
I usually have to make a big one to please everyone. The crust rises up and covers the top except for the center, butter kinda pools there. YUMMMY

Preheat oven 350 degrees
You will need a 2 1/2 quart or larger baking dish.

2 cans of prepared and ready to use fruit pie mix.
2 cups of self rising flour
1 cup sugar or to your taste.
Milk
1 stick butter, real unsalted butter is best, you can use margarine.

Melt butter in baking dish
Mix flour & sugar together, then add just enough milk to make it the consistancy of thick pancake batter.
Pour batter on top of butter that you melted in baking dish.
Pour fruit pie mix on top of batter.
Bake in oven on 350 degrees for 45min. to one hour or until crust is golden brown sometimes the top is golden brown and right underneath seems a little doughy,Just put a piece of foil on top I do this as a rule just to make sure everything is done. The last 30 min. of baking
I never have any left. I give this recipe to all the young women. That enter into the family. They take it to family gatherings and chruch dinners. Family and friends think they are Chefs.

how long do you actually bake this? You said you cover it for the last 30 minutes of baking time. What is the actual time?

Thanks,
Barb

Sorry about the time. I have never really timed it. As I never measure my flour and milk. I would thing 45 mins. to an hour. I have been cooking for so long I usually can tell by how brown something is if it is done enough. I Put the foil on just so it will bake longer and not brown any more. The only reason I put the foil on is because of the younger ones in the family likes it well done. So just use your own judgement.

I made this recipe this afternoon and let me tell you it is sooooooo gooood. Thank you a million times for shareing the recipe. It is so simple to make. I baked mine for about 45 minutes.I drink soy milk so that is what I used for the milk and it was fine.I baked it in a 9 X 9 glass dish.
