Will be trying this out. Added the site to my recipe favorites for perusal at another time. Might just add a bit of cinnamon to one batch.....yum! Thanks!

You could also add cinnamon red hots to apple sauce.MIL used to perk up applesauce with a tsp of vanilla stirred in.

Would you mix in the red hots while cooking? Think I'll try both of your suggestions! Thanks!

I make applesauce & let the apples cook 10 mins or so...then add red hots.According to taste & how much you're making, 1/2-1C should do it.Stir & simmer till red hots are melted.[quote=kwilter]Would you mix in the red hots while cooking? I like to dice a few apples then cook briefly till barely tender, but still hold shape.Stir into applesauce when lukewarm.
The vanilla is added to cold or lukewarm applesauce.DH's Grma served the red applesauce with a dab of whipped cream.
