Can you use any cake mix? I saw where it is a dump cake. I know aenough of you hav tried this to know. Do you know Roberta?

I don't know for sure but suspect a regular cake mix would be too heavy to rise properly. Any pie filling would work I'm sure but I'd stick with the angel food cake.

I made the cake for our guild picnic and it was a hit. Going to make it again for our sew weekend but try blackberrys this time.

I have made Dump cakes alot. Use a pie filling and just sprinkle the dry cake mix over top. Put pieces of butter and nuts on top. They are yummy.

As a diabetic I would use the angel food cake mix and one of the sugar free pie fillings............. It's not that it doesn't have sugar but is an alternative to something really sweet..... and if you make this everyone can eat even you if you eat a very small piece....... that way you won't feel left out.

No, no, just mix dry cake mix and filling. Put into pan and bake as directed on box for pan size. Hugs and smiles, and enjoy!
