Default Garlic, Rosemary, Parmesan Bread

Wednesday, February 8, 2012Garlic, Rosemary, Parmesan Bread
Here's another fabulous bread recipe. You will need the following ingredients:

1 1/2 cups warm water
2 tsp yeast
2 Tblsp sugar
2 Tblsp butter
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp rosemary leaves
1/4 tsp thyme leaves
1 1/2 tsp minced garlic
1/2 cup fresh grated Parmesan cheese
4 cups flour plus
I added about 1/2 cup more flour after punching down the dough in order to mold it into a loaf shape.

Combine warm water, yeast and sugar. Let stand until foamy. Combine the remaining ingredients in a large bowl. Stir the liquid in and mix well. Knead until smooth and elastic. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled in bulk. ( I put this all in my bread machine and pressed the dough setting.) Punch down the dough, add about 1/2 cup more flour if neccessary and shape into a loaf. Place dough in a sprayed bread pan. Cover and set in a warm place to rise until doubled in bulk. Bake at 375 degrees for 35 minutes until golden brown on top and hollow sounding when tapped. Brush with melted butter. It doesn't appear that my picture is going to upload tonight. Peggy

I used dried rosemary leaves but if you wanted to use fresh you could, just use more. Maybe double or triple the amount. I used fresh minced garlic that you buy in the jar already chopped. Hope you like it. Peggy

I haven't really made homemade bread before, but this recipe sounds so delish that I want to give it a try. I was wondering though what kind of flour do you use for this recipe? All-purpose,self-rising, another kind?

Thanks for sharing,
Susan/Pink Lotus
