    How to log in
    1. Locate the log in area at the top of your screen.
    2. Next, enter you username and password then click the Log In button.
    3. In a few seconds you will be logged in to your Quilting Board account.
    If you have not registered on The Quilting Board yet, you will need to click on the Register link at the top of the page to create a new account with a unique username and password.

    How to change profile settings
    1. You will need to be logged in to change your profile settings.
    2. When you are logged in, locate the Settings link at the top of your screen. Click on this link to view your settings.
    3. You have many options to adjust your preferences on The Quilting Board, including your profile settings such as you avatar and signature. You also can access and adjust your general account settings here, including your email address and password, privacy options, messaging and notifications, how you'd like things to display on The Quilting Board, along with your date and timezone settings.
    4. We have a few recommendations when it comes to adjusting your settings on The Quilting Board.
    - One recommendation is to go to your General Settings located in the My Account section of your settings. Scroll down to the Miscellaneous Options and Message Editor Interface. Now select the option for "Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing". We encourage you to use this option because it's easy to add images and edit your posts on The Quilting Board.
    - Another recommendation adjust the setting for "vCard Download:" to "Don't allow vCard download". This will protect your privacy by keeping your personal information, like your email address, private.

    How to post a new discussion topic
    1. You will need to be logged in to post a new discussion topic on The Quilting Board.
    2. Once you are logged in, navigate to the forum discussion board you'd like to make a new post in.
    3. Navigate to the board you want to post in, to start to make your new post
    4. Click on the Post New Thread button towards the top of your screen.
    5. Type in a title for your post. Please make sure your title is clearly related to your post.
    6. Then add your post. You have the option to attach images to your post with the Manage Attachments button. And, you can choose to subscribe to the thread to receive notifications of new comments.
    7. When you are done drafting your post, you can preview it to make sure everything looks good.
    8. Then, click on the Submit New Thread button to publish your post.

    How to reply to an existing discussion topic
    1. You will need to be logged in post a reply to discussion topic on The Quilting Board.
    2. Once you are logged in, navigate to the post you'd like to reply to.
    3. Then, click on the Reply to Thread button and post your reply.
    4. To post an image attachment in a reply click on the Go Advanced button to view this option and more.

    How to post an image
    1. You will need to be logged in to post an image on The Quilting Board, and you will need to have your Message Editor Interface setting in your General Settings set to Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing.
    2. Once you are logged in, navigate to the forum discussion board or post you'd like to post and image in.
    3. To post an image select the picture icon button next to the video icon button above your new post. You have the option to upload a file from your computer, or to insert a URL of an image file from the web.
    4. When you are done uploading your image, you will see the image in your post. You can add a description for the image and other text.
    5. Then, preview it to make sure everything looks good.
    6. Finally, click on the Submit New Thread button to publish your post.

    How to view private messages
    1. You will need to be logged in to view your private message on The Quilting Board.
    2. When you are logged in, click on the Notifications link at the top of your screen.
    3. From there you will have the option to visit your inbox, which includes all the messages you've sent and received from members and administration on The Quilting Board.
    4. Select a message's subject line to view an individual message.
    5. On the message page, you can reply to the message, report the message as offensive, or delete the message.
    6. Scroll to the bottom of the page to see an icon legend for the envelope graphic that appears next to each message.

    How to send a new private message
    1. You will need to be logged in to send a private message to a member or administrator on The Quilting Board.
    2. Once you are logged in, there are two main ways to send a new private message.
    3. One way is to send it from your private message inbox, the other method is to send it from a member or administrator's profile.
    4. First, I'll go over how to send a new private message from your inbox.
    To locate your inbox, go to the Notifications link at the top of the page, and select to view your Inbox.
    5. Next, locate the Send New Message link of the left side of your page and click on it. 6. Enter the message's recipient, a subject line for your message, and then enter the message itself. When you are done drafting your message, you can preview it to make sure everything looks good.
    7. Then, click on the Submit Message button to send your message.
    8. Please note, once a message is sent, it cannot be unsent.
    9. The second way to send a private message is from a member's profile page. You must be logged in to send a member a private message from their profile page.

    How to download private messages
    1. You will need to be logged in to download your private messages.
    2. When you are logged in, click on the Notifications > Inbox link at the top of your screen.
    3. On your inbox page, scroll to the bottom of the page to where it reads,"Download all Private Messages as:".
    4. Click on the file format you prefer, we recommend .csv, and download your private messages onto your computer.

    How to use Live Chat
    1. You will need to be logged in to use Live Chat.
    2. Once you are logged in please read our Rules before using Live Chat.
    3. Then, locate the Live Chat link towards the top of the page, and click on it.
    4. You will see the live chat, with chats between members going on in real-time.
    5. Jump into the conversation.


    How to read old Digest and Article newsletters
    1. If you are a email subscriber to The Quilting Board's newsletters you frequently receive emails from us with discussions and articles from The Quilting Board. We now have an archive, where you can view past Digest and Article newsletters. To access this archive, go to the Resources tab towards the top of the page and select either Daily Digest or Articles.
    3. From there you will be instructed on how to read past newsletters from The Quilting Board.
