Why spend so much time and effort on something that is only going to sit and collect dust in a closet. When I finally finish my next quilt it will most definitely get used!

I have a brother sq9050 that I love and it runs around $240 at walmart. It comes with all the quilting feet too.

So I've given fmq a try and I can't seem to get it right at all. I even tried using a stencil and following the lines with my fmq foot and it went horribly. Just can't seem to get the hang of it....

I used regular cotton for the one I made for my son and it ragged up fine after the first wash. Never made one from flannel yet so not sure what the comparison is.
