Check the inside of the foot for burrs or rough edges. If so and the thread rubs against it, the thread will shred and break. This was my problem.

Check the inside of the machine foot for burrs or rough edges. This happened to me. The thread kept shredding and breaking because it was rubbing on a rough spot inside the foot.
