Kelly that's a lovely old Standard, and it should be used, not just put on display. It keeps them going, using them once in a while. I think vintagemotif knows about Standards.

Judy, the coffin top is actually quite plain, plus it has two dime sized holes in it where something in that garage fell on it and broke pieces out. :( DH is just going to put veneer over those...

You might just want to find a new bobbin winder on eBay...they are on there quite often. Usually around $15 or so. Try Joe's suggestion first, and if not satisfied or it breaks again, then get one.

Yep, I can vouch for this method!! We have it on my New Glenwood, and although the machine won't sew, that tubing turns it just great!! My DH still chuckles at it.

I really like how the cabinet looks! Neat how the different colors of wood look so sharp together. You can replace the handwheel on the 99 with a spoked wheel, and the crank finger will fit much...
