Consult the Schmitz web site for needle size. Also need to lengthen stitches to accommodate the thicker fabric. 2.5 is set for two layers of regular quilt fabric weight.

My research indicates sewing machine oil should only be kept 5 years. Oil found in old machines should not be used. I understand it breaks down chemically after too long.

I believe that if someone wants a specific fabric it is better they get it and send to you. That way there will be no chance of a mix up and you are to blame.
