They just kinda cling to it, from the fusible fleece. I figure the girls will play with it on the floor anyway, although I hung it when I took the pictures and the pieces stayed on too!

I re-threaded it again and did what QBeth said and tugged it into the tension area and it worked! I've never had to do this before and not sure why I had to do that...
