I made one of these only I used a 4" embroidery hoop. I took it with me while I waited for my husband to have his hiatal hernia surgery. That's when I was working on my 1" hexagon quilt top.

I got mine last month at a second hand store for $25. It needed a tune-up, some bobbins and I bought a LED light bulb for it so total for a working 221-1 about $105.

rosiewell I did count them once, I believe it was a bit under 2,000. From time to time I would check fabric stores for remnants -- carrying one of the templates with me for a reference in pattern...

Beaglegirl, I can't really say how much time I spent on this. I got the fabric cut into 2.5" strips then 2.5" squares. then made about 100 hexies at a time; pressed them and stored them in a box....
