What a precious gift from God. Congratulations! Love the quilt; the colors, pattern, and execution. What batting did you use? The pucker effect makes the quilt look vintage.

Shirtings are also used a lot for rag quilts, because, like flannel, they fray nicely. Just be prepared for a lot of "lint" in the dryer for the first few washings.
