the easiest way to see color value is to use a piece of red film they used to make the old 3D glasses out of - it turns everything in to shades of reddish-gray and then she will see what you mean....

when it comes to color matching, you can't beat the paint swatches at your nearest home depot or lowes - they are usually coordinated and dont mind you taking a few strips at at time! tlhe hardest...

the sparkly will never totally wash away - it just mellows out - as for painted on fabric, from what I have used it stays pretty well through 10 years of washing so far - good luck

I find them hard to work with as I can't "feel" the needle. What I usually do is paint a couple of layers of liquid bandage on the spot on my finger where the needle hits. It really seems to help....
