I am a hand quilter only and use Elmer's Glue to baste and have no problems when quilting. I must add that I only do big-stitch quilting and that may make difference.

Brother cs6000i

I have had this machine for almost two years and use it every day. It is a tremendous workhorse and you can get it at Walmart for about $150. Can't say enough about this machine. It's fabulous!!!

The width of the throat space from the curve to the needle is just slightly over 5-1/2". The height of the throat space is 4-3/8ths". Hope this helps.
