I've never found any better stain removal products than the Carbona Stain Devils (http://www.carbona.com/staindevilssystem-formulas1-9.html); they're individually formulated for specific stain types....

I think I'd like it with sashing, myself, but I think I'd make a slightly wider sashing than showing in your photo. These blocks are beautiful, and like fine art, deserve a fine frame.
