How good would 30 yr old fabric be?

Would it be wise to buy approx. 30 yr old cotton fabric? I'm watching some 3-4 yds of fabric from an estate sale on Ebay. It looks good from the pictures but does fabric dry rot in that time?

Making hexies from circles..

Has anyone else seen this method? Just saw it yesterday {Saturday} morning on a quilting show. Can't remember the name. A woman was demonstrating it. So cool !! Am anxious to try it.

What did I do wrong ??? Please advise...

The first picture is my first dresden plate that I sewed by hand. It turned out nice and flat after ironing. It dosn't look like it because it's wrinkled from folding.
The second is one of the rest...
