ok, now I got 90 strips for l/r sides of blocks = 360"
88 strips for top/bottom of blocks = 352" total 712"

so 2 yards of fabric should be plenty. Unless I'm still wrong.

Thanks! There are actually some small bits of purple in the blocks (I didn't even notice them until someone at the store pointed them out!) so I think it ties together nicely.

Yes, you have to look at a lot of fabrics and wait until it sings to you. I asked a similar question a few days ago and I'll be taking a pile of squares to my LQS for some serious looking around!
