I only use templates for appliqué pieces. Use a sandpaper board to hold fabric steady while drawing around the template. Cut out the piece with scissors, leaving a seam allowance.

Why not do a little shop hopping to see how quilt shops market their FQs? Think you'll find lots of ways to fold a FQ, even within one shop.

I use the Shapes feature in Microsoft to create a hex. Make it whatever size you want, then copy and paste to fill the page. Print on card stock and cut out. Each piece is reusable several times.

Try putting your towels, or whatever, in the dryer first....just on air fluff, no heat. That should remove most of the hair before washing. Just remember to clean the dryer filter!
